A traumatic childhood leaves a nomadic man with a delusion that he
is Hamlet. Schizophrenic and hearing voices, he’s taken to a mental
health unit where a female psychologist takes a special interest.
As she battles with the hospital’s dependence on drug therapy, the
patient imagines those around him to be other characters from the play.
When a senior doctor destroys the ghost of the patient’s father through
electric shock treatment the patient finds the perfect target for his
revenge. Anxious to help him and prevent further damage to his mind
the psychologist becomes the Ophelia he imagines her to be, only to
discover that she, too, has become part of his delusion. Entering his
head was one thing but escaping from it is something else…
